U.S. gas price nears 2022 peak

Alexander Stahel, founder and CIO at Commodity Private Equity Fund, reports that the average retail price for regular gasoline in the U.S. has increased to $4.54 per gallon.

Stahel highlights that this price brings it within $0.50 of the all-time record of $5.01 reached in June 2022 and marks a new seasonal high for this time of year.

Stahel has previously commented on market developments beyond energy. He recently identified a shift to consolidation for gold and miners following a bull run from Q1 2024 to March 2026. Stahel has also highlighted concerns about rising credit risk exposures in the banking sector.
