U.S. gas prices hit 30-year surge

Charlie Bilello, chief market strategist at Creative Planning, reports that U.S. gas prices have climbed to $4.56 per gallon, their highest level since July 2022.

Over the past 10 weeks, prices have surged by 53%, rising from $2.98 to $4.56 per gallon. Bilello highlights that this marks the biggest increase seen in the last 30 years.

Bilello previously reported that U.S. gas prices jumped to $4.39 per gallon, marking the largest nine-week increase in three decades. In a separate analysis, he noted the U.S. bond market is experiencing a 69-month drawdown, the longest on record. The recent surge in gas prices follows a period of persistent strain in key financial indicators.
