IFC introduces trade finance synthetic securitization for emerging markets, Makhtar Diop notes
IFC launches trade finance securitization

Makhtar Diop announced the launch of IFC's inaugural Trade Finance Synthetic Securitization, aiming to mobilize more private capital for trade, businesses, and jobs in emerging markets.

This initiative coincides with the gathering of leaders for #ACF2026, where discussions on advancing trade and economic growth are taking place.

Diop has previously highlighted efforts to expand sustainable finance in Egypt, where banks are working with IFC’s 30by30 initiative to promote investment and manage risk, detailed in recent commentary. He also announced a partnership with Standard Chartered to unlock supply chain finance for over 500 suppliers in Africa, according to an earlier update. These initiatives align with IFC’s broader focus on supporting private sector development in emerging markets.
