ETH currently moves opposite oil on Fed policy outlook, Thomas Lee notes
ETH inverse oil correlation and Fed risk

Thomas Lee explains that Ethereum's (ETH) price is currently moving inversely to oil due to U.S. Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting minutes. He points out that the FOMC discussed the potential need for tightening policy if inflation stays above 2 percent. As higher oil prices drive inflation up, this increases the probability of additional Federal Reserve interest rate hikes, leading to pressure on crypto like ETH.

Lee is scheduled to be the lunch speaker today at the Sohn foundation conference at Jazz at Lincoln Center. He is also expected to speak at Consensus 2026, where he will discuss the arrival of crypto spring and new insights on the crypto market.
