Brian Sozzi: High gas prices impact Dollar Tree shopper behavior and store visits
Gas prices reduce Dollar Tree trips

Brian Sozzi, reporter / analyst at Yahoo Finance, highlights how elevated gas prices are influencing Dollar Tree shopper habits.

According to Sozzi, consumers are making fewer trips to Dollar Tree stores but tend to buy more per visit. Recent earnings data show net sales increased 7.2% to $5.0 billion, while comparable store net sales rose 3.5% due to a 4.5% increase in the average purchase size.

Sozzi has recently addressed trends in other sectors. In an earlier report, he shared Goldman Sachs’ view that the rally in semiconductor stocks has outpaced recent earnings forecasts. He also covered the continued sell-off in Nike shares as speculation grew about LeBron James possibly returning to the Cavaliers.
