Vitalik Buterin: Questioning stability anchors for synthetic stablecoins beyond USD
Synthetic stablecoin reference debate resurfaces

Vitalik Buterin, co-founder at Ethereum, has revisited a previous idea regarding synthetic stablecoins. In his post, he raises the question of what synthetic stablecoins should be pegged to, noting that USD may not necessarily be the optimal benchmark. The comment is made in the context of ongoing discussions around options and stable digital assets.

Buterin has previously focused on privacy and security initiatives within the Ethereum ecosystem. He recently highlighted the Kohaku project, which aims to make security and privacy standard on Ethereum's access layer, in a recent note. Earlier, he pointed to Interfold, a new privacy protocol for voting based on MACI concepts, as a solution for private and secure voting protocols.
