Stephanie Link: U.S. mortgage applications rise 11 percent as refi share hits 40 percent
U.S. mortgage applications climb as refis surge

Stephanie Link, managing director and portfolio manager at Hightower Advisors, reports an 11 percent week-over-week and 10 percent year-over-year increase in U.S. mortgage applications.

She notes that refinancing activity rose 15.3 percent week-over-week and 20 percent year-over-year, now making up 40 percent of total loans, despite 30-year mortgage rates at 6.6 percent.

Link has recently commented on company results in other sectors. She highlighted Snowflake’s 34 percent product revenue growth and a new $6 billion Amazon contract. In another report, she noted that Palo Alto Networks beat revenue expectations with strong next-generation security growth.
