Mohamed A. El-Erian: Key U.S. inflation data set for release this week
Key U.S. inflation data expected soon

Mohamed A. El-Erian, president at Queens' College, University of Cambridge, highlights that this week's significant U.S. economic data releases will arrive tomorrow, including the PCE inflation measure for May, which is widely seen as the Federal Reserve’s preferred inflation gauge.

El-Erian observes that while both headline and core inflation are widely expected to rise, the main focus is on the implications for policymakers and markets as the data is published.

El-Erian previously noted that gold's share of global official reserves reached 27% at the end of 2025, overtaking both the euro and U.S. Treasuries according to his analysis. He also reported that Apollo Debt Solutions recently met less than 30 percent of $2.4 billion in investor withdrawal requests as the fund limited redemptions. These observations come as market participants await the latest U.S. inflation data.
