Mohamed A. El-Erian, born in 1958, is an influential Egyptian-American economist and financial analyst. He earned a BA and MA in Economics from Cambridge University, followed by an M.Phil and a Ph.D. from Oxford University. El-Erian's career spans key leadership roles across major financial institutions, including his tenure as CEO and Co-Chief Investment Officer at PIMCO, one of the largest investment firms in the world. Prior to that, he worked at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for 15 years.His career further extended to Harvard Management Company, where he was President and CEO, managing the prestigious university's endowment. Currently, El-Erian is Chief Economic Advisor at Allianz, President of Queens' College at Cambridge, and Chair of Gramercy Fund Management.
