Larry Benedict has had a distinguished career spanning over 35 years in the financial markets. He started his professional journey as a market maker at the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) in 1984. His career took off when he joined Spear Leeds & Kellogg (SLK) as an options specialist, where he managed off-floor derivative index trading and eventually became a managing director. In 2000, after Goldman Sachs acquired SLK, Larry founded Banyan Equity Management, a hedge fund known for its short-term discretionary trading strategies, managing over $900 million in assets at its peak.
