Otavio (Tavi) Costa: U.S. rate hikes and costly war are driving selloff in hard assets
Rate hikes drive hard assets lower

Otavio (Tavi) Costa, portfolio manager at Crescat Capital, points to two key pressures on the U.S. economy: rate hikes and a prolonged, costly war.

Costa argues that these factors are driving a selloff in hard assets, noting the rare opportunity to buy gold at oversold levels during what he calls a secular bull market.

Costa previously highlighted that gold miners are trading at historic discounts to the S&P 500 despite solid fundamentals. In addition, he observed that money supply is now expanding at the fastest rate in five years. These earlier findings come as investors weigh gold’s current valuations.
