Just 1.5% of adults hold 48.4% of wealth, Frank Chaparro notes
Small minority holds bulk of global wealth

Frank Chaparro highlights global wealth disparities, noting that only 58 million adults—1.5% of the adult population—have a net worth above $1 million.

He points out that these individuals control 48.4% of all global wealth, while the bottom 1.62 billion adults, representing 42% of the world’s population, hold just 0.6%. The data is sourced from the UBS Global Wealth Report 2026.

Chaparro has previously reported on shifts in digital asset markets. He noted that Bernstein recently viewed its $150,000 year-end Bitcoin target as ambitious following a market correction. In another report, he highlighted JPMorgan's findings that bitcoin mining economics have worsened as BTC traded below production cost.
