Software and consulting drive $5T annual market, Chamath Palihapitiya notes
Software and services reach $5T yearly

Chamath Palihapitiya, founder and CEO at Social Capital, states that software license revenue reaches $1T annually, while services and T&M consulting around those licenses amount to $4T each year. Palihapitiya reflects on the rapid adoption of a business strategy launched a few years ago, noting that, although growth has been swift, the industry remains in its early stages.

Palihapitiya previously disclosed that 8090 secured $135 million in Series A funding led by Salesforce Ventures. In a separate comment, he said SEIU-UHW union activities contributed to job creators leaving California. His remarks come amid ongoing discussion of software-driven business models and industry growth.
