Crypto card data can be shared with Indian authorities, Pushpendra Singh warns
Crypto cards in India share user data

Pushpendra Singh, crypto educator and blockchain enthusiast, warns that crypto card transactions in India are not as private as some users believe.

He notes that most crypto cards require full KYC procedures and operate on global payment networks like Visa or Mastercard. As a result, financial data from these transactions can potentially be shared with Indian regulators.

India’s Financial Intelligence Unit earlier ordered exchanges to report crypto OTC trades above $10,000, according to Pushpendra Singh’s previous reporting. More recently, Singh noted that USDT was trading at a 9 percent premium to the official USD to INR rate, citing enforcement actions and supply shortages in the market as factors in the price spike. These developments highlight the increasing regulatory oversight and price dislocations facing Indian crypto users.
