Bitcoin flows to institutions in Q2 2026

Alan Rogers details major shifts in Bitcoin ownership for Q2 2026. According to River and BitcoinTreasuries data shared by Rogers, businesses increased their BTC holdings by 115,000, while funds and ETFs acquired an additional 11,000 BTC. In contrast, governments reduced their holdings by 2,000 BTC and individuals sold off 78,000 BTC.

Rogers highlights the significance of these differing flows, noting that retail investors were largely selling while institutional players were accumulating Bitcoin during the period.

Rogers previously reported on Bitcoin trading at $58,600 as the crypto market capitalization slipped to $2.124 trillion and U.S. spot ETF outflows increased here. In a separate update, he covered Robinhood’s launch of a DeFi chain, which reached $80 million in total value locked as well as $800 million in DEX volume here. These developments contribute to recent trends in the digital asset market.
