U.S. CPI rises as core inflation dips

Mark Minervini, independent trader and educator at Minervini Private Access, reports that the U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) edged up 0.1% in July after a prior month decline, primarily influenced by energy prices.

Core CPI, which removes the impact of food and energy, increased by 0.2%. On a year-over-year basis, headline CPI slowed to 3.4%, down from 3.5%, and core inflation dipped to 2.5% from 2.6%.

Minervini has previously warned that following poor trading advice can lead to significant account losses. In earlier commentary, he also observed that exiting index hedges may allow traders to capture more from market rallies. His recent CPI comments add to a series of market-focused insights.
