Alex Thorn: Liquid white hats plan to return most of 4000 BTC after bug fix
White hats plan BTC return after bug fix

Alex Thorn reports that ethical hackers, referred to as 'liquid white hats,' intend to return most of the 4000 BTC involved after a bug on the Liquid Network is addressed.

Communication between the hackers and Blockstream has taken place using OP_RETURN messages and PGP-encrypted text. One Blockstream address in block 965,822 sent 1,000 satoshis requesting contact with security representatives.

Alex Thorn has previously tracked hacker movements across crypto networks. In an earlier report, he covered how the Coldcard Wave 3 hacker moved stolen funds to ETH via THORChain. Thorn also reported when a dormant bitcoin wallet transferred coins to Coinbase after 15 years of inactivity.
