Visa stablecoin card payments climb

Michael Geike, co-founder & CEO at Advanced Blockchain AG, reports that Visa is funding its stablecoin card programs using onchain credit.

According to Geike, stablecoin payment volume on VisaNet has increased by nearly 200 percent year over year. The process involves VisaNet settlement data feeding an onchain lending model developed with Credit Coop, enabling card issuers to access stablecoin liquidity.

Geike has recently covered other developments in digital assets and blockchain infrastructure. He reported that roughly 4,200 BTC, valued at about $320 million, was moved from a Liquid Network federation wallet in a white hat security operation. In an earlier update, he highlighted Coinbase's launch of tokenized U.S. stocks on Base with Chainlink providing price feeds.
