U.S. Treasury yields surge since 2020

Ben Carlson, director of institutional asset management at Ritholtz Wealth Management, compares U.S. Treasury yields from March 2020 to present levels.

According to Carlson, the 30-year Treasury yield increased from 1% in March 2020 to 5.4% today, while shorter-term yields such as the 10-year and 3-month have also climbed sharply.

Carlson has previously highlighted that the top 10 S&P 500 stocks now represent about 40% of the index, each exceeding a $1 trillion market cap. He also noted that AI could add 2% per year to S&P 500 EPS growth, but warned of a 10% existential human risk from the technology. These observations reflect his ongoing analysis of major market trends and risks.
