Tom McClellan: NYSE meets first condition for Zweig Breadth Thrust signal
NYSE triggers first step for ZBT

Tom McClellan reports that the New York Stock Exchange has recorded the initial requirement for a Zweig Breadth Thrust (ZBT) occurrence, with the 10-day exponential moving average of advancing shares versus advancing plus declining shares falling below 0.40.

For a full ZBT signal, McClellan explains that this 10-day average must climb above 0.615 within the next 10 trading days, specifically by October 14.

McClellan has recently noted that only four qualifying market signals appeared in a 30-day period, which was below expectations (details here). He has also commented that gold price trends could be a leading indicator for sustained higher oil prices (more here). These observations form part of his broader market tracking.
