Tracy Shuchart: CME suspends 24/7 crude oil contract launch
CME halts 24/7 crude oil contract plans

Tracy Shuchart, independent trader and strategist at Independent / Trader, reports that CME Group has suspended its plans to launch a 24/7 10-barrel crude oil contract.

According to the announcement, CME Group cited concerns among industry participants about introducing continuous energy trading without further due diligence due to potential unintended risks in the marketplace.

Shuchart has previously suggested that only a significant drop in crude oil prices could halt the ongoing rise in the U.S. 10-year yield, as reported in a recent market analysis. In a separate update, she noted that Gold ETF holdings are approaching February 2026 highs despite a recent pullback in prices. These observations highlight her ongoing monitoring of major commodities and related market indicators.
