Imports reach record high despite tariffs, Peter Schiff notes
U.S. trade deficit hits $105.6 billion

Peter Schiff, CEO and chief global strategist of Euro Pacific Capital, points out that U.S. President Donald Trump considers trade deficits as losses. According to Schiff, the August trade deficit was $105.6 billion, with imports reaching a record high despite the implementation of tariffs.

Schiff claims that by President Donald Trump's own logic, the U.S. is losing more under his administration than under any previous president.

Schiff has previously highlighted rising U.S. Treasury yields. He noted the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield climbed to 4.96 percent, the highest level in 19 years, in one recent report. He also warned when ten-year Treasury yields moved above 5.08 percent in a separate analysis.
