Trust in crypto exchanges is damaged by unethical behavior, Changpeng Zhao says
Unethical exchange actions erode public trust

Changpeng Zhao questioned whether individuals should trust a crypto exchange to custody their assets if that exchange conducts business unethically. He added that paying to spread negative information about a competitor not only destroys trust in one's own exchange but also inadvertently promotes the exchange being targeted, even if the attention is unwelcome.

Zhao previously urged caution after reports of a supply chain attack impacting some buyers of Ledger hardware wallets. In a separate event, he highlighted continued momentum for crypto adoption following a meeting with President Julius Maada Wonie Bio of Sierra Leone earlier this year. The Binance executive remains active on security and trust issues within the crypto sector.
