Peter Schiff: Inflation spike expected to be much bigger than previous rise
Schiff sees larger inflation spike looming

Peter Schiff stated that while it was clear from the numbers in late 2020 and early 2021 that inflation was about to spike, the U.S. Federal Reserve at the time dismissed the rise as transitory.

According to Schiff, inflation is now poised to spike again, and he believes this next rise will be significantly larger than before.

Schiff has recently commented on major compliance actions, noting when U.S. regulators fined Bank of America $1.2 billion for anti-money-laundering violations. He also questioned the viability of government-backed mortgage firms, as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac shares fell nearly 80% from their September 2025 highs. His recent statements follow a series of critical assessments of financial institutions and policy decisions.
