Traffic should be free until it is unsustainable, Alex Bosworth notes
Peer-to-peer BTC traffic should start free

Alex Bosworth, Head of Infrastructure at Lightning Labs, said he is considering how to build peer-to-peer protocols with BTC based on his bolt12 invoices server concept. Bosworth stated that the guiding principle should mirror what is seen in Lightning Network routing: traffic should be free until it becomes unsustainable to provide such service, after which bidding would begin.

Bosworth previously commented on a BTC project offering cold storage guidance aimed at mainstream users, according to Lightning Labs initiatives. He has also noted that improvements in tracking tools may make tracing recent BTC hacks more feasible, based on his observations on BTC theft. These earlier statements reflect his ongoing engagement with Bitcoin infrastructure and security.
