AI boom not a systemic problem, Scott Bessent tells investors
Bessent downplays systemic AI industry risk

Treasury secretary Scott Bessent told investors in a private meeting that he does not see a “systemic problem” with the current artificial intelligence boom, downplaying concerns that the industry is experiencing a bubble similar to the one preceding the dotcom bust.

Annmarie Hordern reported Bessent's comments.

Hordern previously reported on the extension of remote work arrangements at King Abdullah Financial District, where tenants were told the policy would continue indefinitely amid a mix of business activity (full story). She also covered Saudi Arabia’s consideration of delaying its main investment conference in Riyadh following safety concerns raised by Wall Street executives (more here). Both developments reflect recent business decisions in key financial hubs.
