Canadian trade surplus with U.S. is $46 billion, Jason Kenney notes
Kenney questions U.S.-Canada trade figures

Jason Kenney questioned whether anyone in the Administration will clarify to President Donald Trump that the Canadian trade surplus with the U.S. is actually $46 billion, not $90 billion.

Kenney also stated that this surplus exists only because the U.S. purchases $110 billion of oil and gas from Canada.

Kenney has previously commented on broader U.S. economic issues, noting that U.S. debt interest payments have overtaken defence spending. He has also discussed major developments in Canadian business, expressing interest in a proposed merger between two Canadian-owned companies. These remarks form part of his ongoing commentary on cross-border financial matters.
