Markets revisit tech funding needs as Nasdaq weakens, Mohamed A. El-Erian notes
Nasdaq weak as tech sector assumptions shift

Markets experienced renewed weakness in the Nasdaq as previously comforting assumptions about technology return on investment and funding needs were revisited over the past week.

Mohamed A. El-Erian, president at Queens' College, University of Cambridge, added that confidence in the sector's long-term economic growth effects remains broadly intact.

El-Erian recently noted that U.S. 10-year Treasury yields rose to 5.22 percent, their highest level since 2002. He has also commented on France leading the UK in the largest government bond yield surge since U.S.-Israel attacks on Iran. These developments have drawn attention to shifts in fixed income markets in recent weeks.
