Gold gains on spending spree concerns, Daniel Lacalle notes
Gold up on bipartisan U.S. spending fears

Gold prices have increased on concerns that the U.S. will undertake a new round of bipartisan discretionary spending.

Daniel Lacalle, chief economist and investment manager at Tressis Gestion, highlighted this development.

Lacalle has previously commented on bond market volatility, after Christine Lagarde stated that bond selloffs could help slow inflation in Europe in his article Bond yields rise as ECB's Lagarde addresses inflation concerns. He also warned that a potential German exit from the euro could trigger major bankruptcies and a financial crisis across Europe in Euro exit by Germany could trigger bank asset demolition and European depression. The economist continues to monitor fiscal policy risks in both the US and Europe.
