A hack is news but a narrative persists, Michael Geike argues
Largest crypto hack and narrative trends

The largest crypto heist in history did not alter prevailing narratives, according to Michael Geike, co-founder and CEO of Advanced Blockchain AG.

Geike noted that while such a hack is newsworthy, what truly shapes the sector is the narrative that endures these events. He also provided recent data on crypto and finance news trends, with traditional finance 'going on-chain' up 4% week over week, Macro coverage down 4%, Mag7 earnings stories up 45%, and stories on Physical AI and AI agents down 63% and 28%, respectively.

Earlier this year, Geike highlighted Vitalik Buterin's move to equip his AI agent with privacy features, focusing on challenges in private payments here. Meanwhile, MSCI announced the exclusion of companies without operating businesses from its Global Investable Market Indexes here. These developments have contributed to ongoing discussions about evolving standards in both crypto and traditional finance.
