Apple shares remain close to record highs after a powerful rally driven by improving confidence in the company's AI strategy. Investor sentiment has strengthened following regulatory approval for Apple Intelligence in China, clearing an important hurdle for the rollout of AI features in one of Apple's largest markets.

Analysts have also become more constructive on Apple's disciplined AI spending strategy, arguing that the company may benefit from avoiding the massive infrastructure investments weighing on several competitors.
Investors shift focus to earnings and macro risks
With Apple scheduled to report earnings later this month, investors are becoming more selective after the recent advance. Markets will closely watch iPhone demand, Services growth, AI monetization and management's guidance for the second half of the year. At the macro level, expectations that the Federal Reserve could gradually ease policy remain supportive for technology stocks, although elevated Treasury yields continue to limit valuation expansion across the sector.
Middle East tensions remain a secondary headwind
The conflict in the Middle East continues to create uncertainty through higher energy prices and inflation expectations rather than through direct exposure to Apple's business. Persistently elevated oil prices could increase logistics and component costs while also delaying monetary easing if inflation proves more persistent. Even so, Apple continues to be viewed as one of the more defensive names within the technology sector because of its strong cash generation, loyal customer base and relatively conservative AI investment strategy.
Technical trend remains positive despite short-term consolidation
The hourly chart shows Apple consolidating after reaching fresh all-time highs near the $333 to $334 area. Although short-term momentum has cooled, the stock continues to trade comfortably above its short, medium and long-term moving averages, confirming that the broader uptrend remains intact. The recent pullback appears to reflect profit taking rather than a change in trend. As I noted previously in Apple retreats from record highs as valuation and rate risks test bullish conviction, long-term prospects remain constructive, and any meaningful decline may continue to attract buying interest. A sustained move above the recent highs would strengthen the bullish outlook and open the way toward the $340 area, while the first meaningful support remains in the $320 to $322 region.
