BT shares form bull flag as EE expands premium fibre
BT Group is expanding its premium fibre offering through the launch of new high-speed EE plans. Meanwhile, a bull flag is forming on the chart, and a breakout could open the way toward GBX 210–220.
BT Group continues to expand the capabilities of its fibre infrastructure while gradually strengthening its commercial monetization. As part of this strategy, EE, which operates within the group’s Consumer division, launched Advanced Full Fibre plans on August 4, offering speeds of up to 2.3 Gbps and 8 Gbps.
The launch followed technology trials earlier in 2026 and reflects BT’s gradual transition from large-scale fibre network construction toward monetization through higher-priced plans. However, due to the product’s limited geographic availability, its immediate impact on the group’s financial performance is likely to remain modest at this stage.

BT shares form a bull flag above GBX 200
BT-A shares are consolidating within the GBX 200–206 range. A bull flag is forming on the daily chart, increasing confidence in the bullish scenario outlined previously.
A breakout above the flag’s upper boundary near GBX 204 is expected over the coming days. If the move is supported by higher trading volume, the first target would be GBX 210, after which the shares could continue toward GBX 220.
A decline below support near GBX 198 would invalidate this scenario.
BT’s fibre monetization supports its medium-term outlook
BT’s fundamental outlook increasingly depends on the company’s ability to monetize its substantial investment in fibre infrastructure. In the latest quarter, the retail FTTP customer base increased to 4.8 million, while fibre connections accounted for 54% of the Consumer broadband base.
The launch of plans offering speeds of up to 8 Gbps expands EE’s premium product range and could support average revenue per user over time.
The medium-term fundamental outlook therefore remains positive. However, further gains in the shares will require both a volume-confirmed breakout from the technical pattern and continued strong growth in fibre customer connections.
