Rolls-Royce shares hold near highs as GBX 1,586 comes into focus
Rolls-Royce holds firm near record highs.

Rolls-Royce remains resilient, while a new order in South Korea adds a modest fundamental tailwind. Holding above GBX 1,510 keeps the medium-term bullish scenario intact.

Rolls-Royce announced an order for 33 mtu Series 4000R engines to support the modernization of Korea Railroad Corporation’s freight locomotive fleet. The engines will power new locomotives built by South Korea’s Romansys, with the first 30 units already delivered before August.

The contract is unlikely to materially change the group’s financial outlook on its own. Still, it strengthens Power Systems’ position in the Asian rail market and further highlights the diversification of Rolls-Royce beyond Civil Aerospace and Defence.

GBX 1,586 becomes the last barrier before the target zone

Rolls-Royce shares held above the previously identified key support at GBX 1,510, after which buyers pushed the price back above GBX 1,550. That keeps the medium-term target zone at GBX 1,600–1,650 in play.

The main hurdle before that area is the previous all-time high near GBX 1,586. On the current chart, it is effectively the last notable resistance level before the target range.

Relative strength keeps the bullish structure intact

Rolls-Royce continues to show resilience even after the substantial gains of recent months. The ability of the shares to remain close to record highs without a constant stream of major new corporate catalysts suggests that underlying demand remains firm.

For now, the combination of strong financial performance and a stable price structure continues to support the medium-term bullish scenario.
