Nvidia stock holds above $225 as LG deal supports physical AI expansion
Nvidia holds above $225 as LG expands physical AI ties.

Nvidia has broken above the previously identified $225 resistance, although the doji formed on August 13 raises questions about the strength of the current momentum. Against that backdrop, a new agreement with LG expands Nvidia’s presence in physical AI and adds another fundamental catalyst ahead of earnings.

Nvidia is expanding its partnership with LG Group. The companies signed a memorandum on August 13 at Nvidia’s headquarters in Santa Clara, agreeing to jointly develop robotics, AI factories, and automotive AI platforms.

LG plans to unveil a new bipedal humanoid robot in the first quarter of 2027, built on Nvidia Isaac GR00T and the Jetson Thor computing platform. The partnership also includes the use of Nvidia DSX and Vera Rubin for AI factory infrastructure, as well as collaboration on an automotive platform based on Nvidia DRIVE.

Doji candle puts the $225 breakout to the test

Nvidia stock has broken above the previously identified $225 resistance level. However, the doji candle formed after the August 13 session raises questions about whether the breakout can hold.

If the price slips back below $225 during today’s session, the stock could face a pullback toward $220. For now, however, that remains the less likely scenario.

The base case remains a continued advance toward the next key resistance at $230.

Earnings could sharply increase volatility

Short-term traders should be prepared for a gradual increase in volatility as Nvidia’s quarterly earnings report on August 26 approaches.

Even a strong report would not guarantee that the rally continues. After the stock’s recent gains and elevated market expectations, a solid result may already be partly priced in, leaving a sell-the-news scenario entirely possible. The risk of sharp moves in either direction is likely to increase as August 26 approaches, making position management particularly important for short-term traders.
