Liquidity rises as capital shifts from bitcoin to cash reserves

Strategy raised approximately $2.01 billion by selling 18.26 million MSTR shares, channeling $1.59 billion into a new USD Cash pool instead of expanding its Bitcoin holdings, according to Cryptoslate and Ccn. This substantial capital raise bolsters the company's liquidity position and reduces immediate exposure to cryptocurrency market fluctuations, offering increased flexibility for future allocations. In the same period, $136.4 million was used to repurchase 1.43 million shares of STRC preferred stock, directly targeting its capital structure. Between August 17 and August 23, Strategy's at-the-market share sale provided additional resources to strengthen the balance sheet, while the absence of new Bitcoin acquisitions highlights a strategic focus on financial consolidation.

Bullish signals emerge as momentum splits near major resistance

Technically, the price is positioned above the MA-20 and MA-50, but remains capped by the MA-200 as a key resistance level. The Ichimoku Kijun currently sits at $123.34 and acts as immediate support. MACD delivers a strong buy signal and ADX remains bullish, while RSI stands at 55.85 (Buy) and CCI is neutral. Meanwhile, Stoch RSI and Bull/Bear Power indicate oversold conditions. The Awesome Oscillator is neutral, pointing to divergence among short-term momentum signals, and today’s elevated volatility increases the potential for abrupt reversals.

Consolidation likely as strong upside bias limits reversal risk

In the short term, the expected price range is projected between $121.86 and $141.21. The probability of an upward move is assessed as very high, while the likelihood of a reversal appears limited. The baseline scenario suggests price consolidation between these support and resistance levels. Should a breakout above the upper range occur, further buying could accelerate, whereas a drop below immediate support may open the way for renewed downward momentum.

Viktoras Karapetjanc, analyst at Traders Union, sees Strategy’s substantial cash build from share sales as a decisive move to solidify its liquidity and capital structure. He believes management’s pause on further Bitcoin accumulation signals a pragmatic pivot toward risk control and financial flexibility. Momentum remains strong, technicals align with the bullish narrative, and sentiment is supported by disciplined treasury actions. "With fundamentals and macro conditions turning in favor, I expect further upside as long as MSTR consolidates above support and the company maintains its strategic direction."

Earlier, analysts noted that Strategy’s share price was consolidating as the company enhanced its liquidity position and retained operational flexibility amid muted Bitcoin activity. With the stock now trading above key short- and medium-term averages following a substantial share sale and capital infusion, traders should monitor price reaction near long-term resistance for signs of a sustained breakout or reversal.
