Tesla falls toward key support as Cybercab concerns persist
Tesla stock fell below the $368 level and moved through the $358 target, finishing the latest session near $354. Attention now shifts to support at $351.50, which could determine the direction of the next move.
Cybercab remains the main company-specific issue for Tesla. NHTSA is continuing to examine the basis on which the company self-certified Cybercab as compliant with federal safety standards despite the absence of a steering wheel, pedals and conventional mirrors. The regulator intends to review the technical data and the process Tesla used for self-certification.

Tesla needs to defend $351.50 to stabilize
The bearish setup outlined earlier played out. Tesla stock broke below the previously highlighted $368 level, then moved through the $358 target and settled near $354.
For today’s session, $351.50 becomes the key support level. A decisive break and sustained move below this area could intensify selling pressure and open the way toward the next target around $345.
If buyers defend $351.50, however, the probability of a technical recovery would increase. In that case, the first target would be a return toward the $358–363 area, which now acts as the nearest resistance zone.
Macro repricing adds another layer of pressure to Tesla
For Tesla, the next several sessions will depend on more than the Robotaxi narrative. August PPI is due on September 10, followed by CPI on September 11, the final major inflation signal ahead of the September 15–16 Fed meeting.
This matters particularly for Tesla because of the stock’s high sensitivity to interest rates. If inflation comes in above expectations and bond yields rise, investors may apply a higher discount rate to the company’s future earnings, adding pressure to the shares regardless of progress on Cybercab.
