Germany backs Tesla’s FSD push: Can the stock break $383?
Tesla stock is approaching a significant technical resistance zone following a solid bounce in recent trading sessions. The technical outlook remains favorable, although given the recent swift gains, the market is now looking for some positive confirmation.
Tesla has received further support for its European FSD ambitions. Steffen Bilger, Germany’s minister of transportation, indicated that he was in favor of rapid Europe-wide approval of Full Self Driving after discussing the technological aspects and liability issues with Tesla. Germany is ready to back a system that could momentarily go above the speed limit by 10%, which has been the biggest challenge for Europe-wide approval of FSD.
Nevertheless, an EU-wide decision in its entirety is yet to be made. A voting process which Tesla had originally thought could happen in October has been delayed, and it might take until December for this to happen.

Failure at $383 raises the risk of a local pullback
Tesla has reached the previously identified resistance area near $383, but has so far failed to establish a sustained move above it and is beginning to show early signs of fading momentum.
For the next few sessions, the base-case scenario is a local pullback toward the $375–372 area. After the strength of the previous advance, such a move would look more like technical profit-taking than a full reversal of the broader trend.
This scenario would be invalidated by a decisive break above $383 followed by a sustained hold. In that case, buyers would confirm that the upward momentum remains intact, potentially opening the way toward the 200-day SMA near $392.20.
FSD and earnings could drive the next volatility wave
Following the strong Q3 delivery report, market attention is gradually shifting away from vehicle volumes and toward whether Tesla can justify its richer AI valuation through tangible progress in FSD, Robotaxi and Optimus.
That leaves the coming weeks potentially more volatile. Tesla is due to report full third-quarter results on October 21, and ahead of earnings, any developments around European FSD approval or autonomous services could trigger a much sharper reaction in the stock.
