Nvidia expands open AI model lineup for enterprise agents and PC deployment
Nvidia is widening its push into private AI deployments with new open-weight models aimed at enterprise infrastructure and locally run assistants on PCs. The launch pairs a 120-billion-parameter enterprise model with smaller Bolt models for Nvidia-powered systems, as the chipmaker targets customers that want more control over data, costs and deployment.
Highlights
- Nvidia launched Nemotron 3.5 Super VL, a 120-billion-parameter open model for enterprise agent workloads, offering competitive speed versus Anthropic and OpenAI.
- Super VL can be post-trained on proprietary enterprise data, deployed on-premises with organizations like Skydance, EY, Ramp, and Salesforce already adopting it.
- Nvidia released Bolt 74B-A9B 24GB and Bolt E4B for local deployment on RTX Spark and DGX Spark PCs, targeting early consumer and workplace AI assistant markets.
Model rollout targets data centers and local devices
As reported by TechCrunch, Nvidia on Thursday introduced the Nemotron 3.5 Super VL for enterprise agent workloads and two smaller Bolt models designed for local use on AI PCs and workstations.Super VL is a 120-billion-parameter model built for always-on agents and edge computing. Nvidia says it uses fewer parameters than Nemotron 3 Ultra while delivering similar accuracy in instruction-following and tool-use tasks.
The company says the model completes specific agentic tasks faster than competing models from Anthropic and OpenAI when post-trained for those uses. Nvidia lists document intelligence, financial accounting, scientific experimentation, medical insurance claims and security attack resilience among the target workloads.
Nvidia vice president of Open Models and Software Kari Briski says organizations can use an open, optimized model for their tier without having to choose between capability and deployability. Nvidia also says companies including Skydance, EY, Ramp, CrowdStrike, Perplexity and Salesforce are using Super VL.
Enterprise control and on-device privacy drive strategy
The release reflects Nvidia's effort to capitalize on enterprise demand for open models that can run inside a company's own data center rather than through closed frontier systems. Briski says organizations can post-train Super VL on their own data, deploy it on their own infrastructure and retain ownership of what they build. At the same time, Nvidia is pushing into the early market for consumer and workplace AI assistants that run locally. The Bolt models are intended for systems using Nvidia RTX Spark chips and DGX Spark workstations, with partner companies such as Microsoft and Dell releasing these PCs into the market now.
Of the two smaller models, Nemotron 3.5 Bolt 74B-A9B 24GB is positioned for local agentic work that balances speed and reasoning for multistep tasks, tool calling and web browsing. The smaller Bolt E4B is aimed at conversational agents; Nvidia says Super VL and Bolt 74B-A9B are available now, while Bolt E4B is due later this month.
Our earlier coverage on surging oil and gas prices during the U.S.-Iran war explained how higher crude, diesel and European gas prices were boosting cash generation for major international oil companies ahead of earnings. We noted that many firms were emphasizing capital discipline—directing windfalls to debt reduction and shareholder returns—while delaying major new spending until prices stabilize.
