Costco shares may extend rally as technical signals point to further upside
Costco rally may continue

Costco shares have climbed about 20% since late September, and chart-based indicators suggest the advance may still have room to run. Key technical levels now place the stock near potential resistance around $1,100, close to its May record high of $1,096.50.

Highlights

  • Costco's shares could advance toward a projected target near $1,100, approaching the all-time high of $1,096.50 set in May per LSEG data.
  • Additional Fibonacci projections identify $1,152 and $1,238 as subsequent potential resistance levels amid the ongoing rally.
  • Bollinger Bands, Relative Strength Index, and MACD all indicate continued bullish momentum unless shares fall below the $1,012–$1,014 support range.

Technical levels support further gains

As reported by Reuters, technical analysts say Costco's recent rise leaves room for additional upside based on Fibonacci projections, a charting tool used to estimate potential price targets from a stock's prior advance.

One projected target sits just below $1,100, a level that also stands out as a psychological threshold for investors. That area roughly aligns with Costco's all-time high of $1,096.50 reached in May, according to LSEG data, making it a notable resistance point if the rally continues.

Further Fibonacci-based targets stand at $1,152 and then $1,238. Analysts typically look for overlapping signals at such levels to judge whether momentum can carry a stock through resistance or stall near a prior peak.

Momentum indicators remain constructive

Analysts also use volatility and momentum measures to test whether a rally is likely to persist. In Costco's case, Bollinger Bands, the Relative Strength Index, and Moving Average Convergence Divergence are all currently signaling that the shares could continue to rise.

Even so, the bullish setup is not without risk if broader market conditions shift. A drop below the $1,012 to $1,014 range would likely undermine the current technical case for further gains.

Our earlier article on the S&P 500’s push toward the 8,000 level examined how investors were weighing strong third-quarter earnings expectations against headwinds such as higher oil prices, elevated Treasury yields, and political uncertainty. It also highlighted concentration and market-breadth risks, noting that megacaps were doing much of the heavy lifting even as a large share of index constituents traded below key moving averages.
