TU Expert Verdict

Anton Kharitonov

Chief Analytics Officer

Reku, an Indonesian cryptocurrency exchange, provides access to trading over 150 digital assets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDT exclusively in Indonesian Rupiah. The platform supports both browser-based and mobile applications, with a low minimum deposit of IDR 10,000 and competitive flat trading commissions of 0.1% for makers and takers. Regulated by BAPPEBTI, Reku offers features like staking rewards up to 12.5% annually, access to OTC trading for high-volume clients, and 24/7 customer support via live chat and email. Deposits and withdrawals can be made through bank transfer, supported payment services, or crypto wallets.

However, a notable drawback is that Reku is only available to residents of Indonesia, excluding traders from other countries including the U.S. and Germany. Additional disadvantages include weak liquidity on some secondary trading pairs, no leverage or advanced order types, limited range of deposit options, and the absence of Tier-1 regulation or investor protection funds. Reku may suit Indonesian traders seeking a regulated and straightforward local exchange but is not an option for international users or those requiring advanced features and top-tier oversight.

Reku Summary

Your capital is at risk.  Cryptocurrency trading can be extremely risky. Cryptocurrency trading can lead to large and immediate financial losses. The volatility and unpredictability of the price of cryptocurrency relative to fiat currency may result in significant loss over a short period of time. Transactions in cryptocurrency may be irreversible, and, accordingly, losses due to fraudulent or accidental transactions may not be recoverable. The nature of cryptocurrency may lead to an increased risk of fraud or cyber attack.

I had long planned to invest in cryptocurrencies, believing them to be the future of finance. This is a widely shared perspective. Before joining Reku, I had already determined the assets for my investment portfolio. Conveniently, they're all accessible on one platform, eliminating the need for multiple exchange accounts. I appreciate the variety of deposit and withdrawal methods, as well as the competitive trading fees. The ability to start with a minimal deposit of IDR 10,000 and gradually increase investments is a plus. While the mobile app could be improved, it generally meets my needs. A significant drawback is the absence of dollar and euro cryptocurrency pairs. This regional limitation is unfortunate. Additionally, client support response times are slow. However, as the saying goes, no exchange is perfect; it's about weighing the pros and cons. Reku leans towards the former.

I primarily use Reku for staking. While the number of assets available for staking is limited to eight, the annual returns of up to 12.5% are quite competitive. I haven't found higher staking yields on any other Indonesian exchange. The platform also offers an affiliate program to earn additional income, but the commission structure is relatively weak. Earning only 13.2% of the exchange's commission from a first-level referral doesn't offer significant earning potential. I occasionally engage in trading on the platform, and my experiences have been positive. My trading strategy involves capitalizing on asset price increases and subsequently converting profits back to Rupiah when prices decline. Reku provides a favorable trading environment, although liquidity could be improved for certain trading pairs. Overall, I am satisfied with Reku and consider it my preferred exchange for at least the next couple of years.

Strong regulation and robust analytical support were essential factors in my exchange selection. Reku excels in both areas, being regulated by BAPPEBTI and providing daily expert analysis. I appreciate the user-friendly and functional browser-based trading platform. The company's client-centric approach is evident throughout its offerings. Reku boasts a wide range of assets, low fees, and well-implemented alternative earning options like staking and affiliate programs. While over-the-counter trading requires significant capital, it's a valuable addition to the platform. I am confident in Reku's future and believe it will continue to strengthen its leading position in the Indonesian market.
