NeuroPace Inc has unveiled results from the NAUTILUS trial, showing a 77 percent median reduction in generalized tonic-clonic seizures (GTCs) over 18 months for patients with drug-resistant idiopathic generalized epilepsy (IGE).
The data, presented by Dr. Marty Morrell at the AAN2026 conference, also indicate a 44 percent lower likelihood of rescue medication use and nearly a 30 percent decrease in injury events. This is the only randomized controlled trial (RCT) to date focused on neuromodulation for this patient group, suggesting new hope for individuals who have exhausted other treatment options.
NeuroPace previously released initial NAUTILUS Study results highlighting advances in neuromodulation for drug-resistant IGE at the 2026 AAN meeting. The company also encourages individuals with uncontrolled seizures to assess suitability for the RNS System via an online quiz. Both efforts target patients who have not responded to conventional treatments.
