Accuray enables National Cancer Center Myanmar to treat 18 patients with Radixact system in two days
Accuray announced that the National Cancer Center in Myanmar has successfully launched its Radixact system, treating its first 18 patients over two consecutive days. The center managed eight cases on May 4 and completed an additional ten cases on May 5, demonstrating strong clinical preparation and operational readiness.
This milestone marks a significant advancement in cancer care capabilities for Myanmar, with the Radixact system bringing advanced radiotherapy treatment options to the region. The achievement showcases effective teamwork and sets a foundation for expanded oncology services in the country.
Accuray has previously reported 10-year FRAME-PROSTATE study results showing that TomoTherapy yielded strong survival and minimal gastrointestinal toxicity for prostate cancer patients after surgery, according to company data. The company also recently offered limited demonstration slots for its CyberKnife and helical platforms at ESTRO26, with a focus on advanced radiation therapy technologies, as noted earlier. These activities emphasize Accuray's continued presence in the radiotherapy sector.
