SoundThinking recently released an update to ShotSpotter InSight aimed at boosting the system’s effectiveness in field operations, according to a company statement (link). In a separate incident in Washington D.C., ShotSpotter alerts enabled local police to arrest an armed suspect following rapid notification of gunfire (link). Both examples reflect ongoing adoption of real-time detection technology.
