Carrier screening process consolidated by Pacific Biosciences of California with PureTarget HiFi platform
Pacific Biosciences of California has launched a streamlined workflow for carrier screening that replaces legacy assays with a single, integrated process.
The company's PureTarget HiFi sequencing consolidates both PCR and Southern blot methodologies, aiming to improve the detection of challenging genes such as FMR1 and SMN. This advancement is designed to enhance efficiency and reliability for clinical genetic testing labs. Pacific Biosciences of California has made additional resources available, including a downloadable playbook, for those interested in adopting the new workflow.
Earlier this year, Pacific Biosciences of California unveiled an Ampli-Fi workflow to enable HiFi sequencing with lower DNA input. The company also introduced a HiFi Starter Kit to streamline sequencing projects and improve sample preparation efficiency. These initiatives reflect an ongoing effort to simplify workflows and support clinical labs using HiFi sequencing technologies.
