Brookfield Infrastructure CEO Anuj Ranjan shared views on stablecoins in an op-ed originally published in Reuters Open Interest.
Ranjan wrote that as society enters the age of AI, the architecture for moving money remains analog. He said the real opportunity in stablecoins may not lie in the assets themselves.
BIPC is trading at $40.61, sitting below the MA-20 ($41.29), nearly even with the MA-50 ($40.62), and well below the MA-200 ($43.69). This structure indicates prevailing short- to long-term bearish pressure, with limited signs of a reversal. The Ichimoku Kijun on D1 matches the current price at $40.61 and should be watched as the immediate resistance level. Near-term support sits at the MA-50 ($40.62), while key support is found at the MA-200 ($43.69); near-term resistance is the MA-20 ($41.29), with key resistance at the MA-100 ($43.30).
Momentum signals are conflicting on D1: ADX (13.06) and MACD (–0.02) suggest a neutral and directionless trend. RSI (46.66), CCI (–132.39), and Stoch RSI (7.63) all point to oversold or weak price action, highlighting vulnerability to short-term rebounds, while BBP (0.04) confirms that sellers dominate intraday moves. The Awesome Oscillator remains neutral and does not support a clear trend. Over the past week, BIPC is trading at $40.61, up from $40.41 at the previous weekly close—a muted 0.52% gain—currently positioned near the very bottom of the weekly range. Weekly volatility stands at 4.05%. This underscores a tone of consolidation and lackluster recovery from weekly lows despite the mild uptick.
For the coming week, the expected price range is $39.80 to $41.90, with little potential for dramatic movement; this corridor remains well within BIPC’s 52-week low of $34.18 and high of $51.72. The probability of price increase is very low (less than 20%), as all W1 trend indicators (MA-50, RSI, ADX, MACD) point to continued downside, making a further decline more likely. The baseline scenario is continued sideways trading within $39.80–$41.90. A bullish scenario could emerge if price convincingly reclaims the MA-20 and pushes above $41.90, opening the way for a move toward $43.30. Conversely, if support at $40.60 or $39.80 fails, a bearish move toward the yearly low cannot be ruled out.
Earlier, analysts noted that Brookfield Infrastructure was experiencing a period of consolidation with a neutral-to-bearish technical outlook and limited immediate upside potential. Investors should now monitor whether emerging market momentum is sufficient to break the stock out of its consolidation zone, as a sustained move in either direction could set the tone for the next significant trend.
