D-Wave Quantum powers DOCOMO efficiency

D-Wave Quantum announced that NTT DOCOMO, Japan’s largest mobile operator, achieved a 65.3 percent reduction in peak in a segment of its network after implementing D-Wave-powered production applications.

The case study details how the optimization was realized by applying quantum computing solutions to a segment containing 333 base stations. The results highlight the practical benefits of deploying quantum technology in telecommunications infrastructure.

D-Wave Quantum recently expanded its technology portfolio by launching a beta program for a gate-model quantum computing simulator, granting partners early access to error-aware programming. The company has also secured a multi-year agreement with SkyWater Foundry to advance semiconductor manufacturing for quantum technologies. These developments signal continued momentum in D-Wave's commercial partnerships and product initiatives.
