Backblaze sets July traffic record

Backblaze reported a new network traffic record for July, citing significant growth across its operations. The company’s Q3 update points to increased content delivery network (CDN) baselines, changing regional traffic patterns, and a renewed wave of data migration activity.

These developments underline shifts in Backblaze’s infrastructure usage and could indicate evolving demand for its cloud storage and backup solutions.

Earlier this year, Backblaze reported a 9.33 percent failure rate for its 10TB Seagate drives, with 22 failures out of 965 units in the quarter, according to a company update. In a separate reliability report, Backblaze found that all its zero or one-failure drive models for the quarter were Seagate drives, highlighting ongoing monitoring of hardware performance in its operations.
