Hawaiian Electric schedules Kalihi Street utility upgrades to minimize school disruption
Hawaiian Electric utility work update

Hawaiian Electric will carry out utility upgrades along Kalihi Street, replacing a utility pole, overhead lines, and other equipment on October 24. The work, scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., aims to reduce operational impacts on Keiki O Ka Aina Family Learning Centers nearby.

The project will result in a partial closure of the mauka-bound lane of Kalihi Street near the center. Hawaiian Electric is coordinating the schedule to limit disruption for school activities and local traffic.

Hawaiian Electric has recently managed service interruptions in other parts of Oahu. Earlier this month, the company reported a power outage affecting about 1,930 customers in Wahiawa. Last week, crews responded to a service disruption that impacted 2,460 customers in Makaha. The utility has dispatched teams promptly to restore power in these instances.
