Astra Centre retail expansion in Cebu

According to BusinessWorld Online, as disclosed in a stock exchange filing, the new retail hub is part of Cebu Landmasters' broader push to build out its commercial property portfolio in Mandaue City. Joanna Marie S. Bergundthal, chief people and strategy officer at CLI, said Astra Lifestyle Centre is intended to be more than a retail space, positioning it as a destination integrated into daily community life.

The mall sits within the 1.23-hectare Astra Centre estate, which combines retail, office, residential and hotel components. Food and beverage tenants include Nabe Izakaya and Hotpot, Refuel Specialty Coffee and Bistro, and Hai Chix and Steaks, all entering the Cebu market through the project.

The center also includes local brands such as Tales and Feelings, Commonly Uncommon, Tian Fu, Kalipay Filipino Restaurant, Ondo Bakery, Seoul Moon, Each Café and Cloud Nine Creamery. Other tenants include Metro Supermarket, ATE by TATA, The Little Gym, Well Played Playground, CWC Interiors, Nova Skin, A Plus Clinic Premier Aesthetics, Inner Peace, Spaholics and Jess Luxuriesse, with Much Love Mom, Little Italy Pizzeria and Studio 300 listed as upcoming occupants.

Broader property mix and regional business impact

Astra Lifestyle Centre adds to a wider estate that already includes the P1.99-billion Radisson RED Cebu Mandaue, which opened in April as the first Radisson RED property in the Philippines. The development also contains the One Astra Place residential project and the 16,470-square-meter Astra Corporate Center office tower.

The integrated project is located near Cebu IT Park, Cebu Business Park and Mactan-Cebu International Airport, placing it close to key business and transport nodes in the province. That location supports CLI's strategy of building mixed-use developments that can draw foot traffic from office workers, residents, travelers and nearby communities.

Astra Lifestyle Centre also won the Best Retail Architectural Design award at the 14th PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards in August, adding industry recognition as the company scales up its commercial assets.
