Ethereum risks correction as buying volume remains weak
Ethereum struggles below $1,950.

Ethereum continues to receive support from spot ETF inflows and large holders, but overall demand remains limited. A lack of buying volume has stalled the rally near $1,950, increasing the probability of a pullback toward the $1,880–$1,900 support zone.

Ethereum continues to benefit from institutional demand. According to SoSoValue, U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs recorded $37.4 million in net inflows on July 21.

In addition to institutional investors, large holders continue to accumulate ETH. Since June 30, one whale has purchased 54,449 ETH worth approximately $94 million at an average price of $1,726.

At the same time, ETF inflows and whale accumulation are creating a positive fundamental backdrop. However, in the short term, Ethereum still needs stronger buying volume to sustain its upward momentum.

Momentum weakens near key resistance

ETH failed to establish a firm foothold above $1,950, as buying volume was insufficient to accelerate the move toward $2,000, as discussed previously.

As a result, the probability of a short-term correction has increased. The first support is the short-term ascending trendline, currently located in the $1,880–$1,900 range.

A decisive break below this zone would weaken the current bullish momentum and increase the probability of a decline toward the next support area at $1,800–$1,850.

Meanwhile, RSI (14) is approaching overbought territory. A similar setup preceded local pullbacks on March 17 and April 18, 2026, further increasing the risk of a short-term correction.

Ethereum recovery requires stronger market participation

ETF inflows and purchases by large holders suggest that interest in Ethereum is gradually recovering. However, demand remains concentrated among a relatively small group of market participants and has yet to generate enough momentum for a sustained rally.

For Ethereum to transition into a broader uptrend, spot trading volumes will need to increase and buying interest will have to expand across the wider market.
